Off the Wheel Pottery is located just outside the village of Egg Harbor, Wi. This tourist destination, best known as Door County, is located on the peninsula that is surrounded by the bay of Green Bay and Lake Michigan. It is referred to as the Cape Cod of the Midwest with its beautiful harbors, rolling meadows with abundant wildlife, gorgeous sunsets, unique shops and galleries, great restaurants, music and theater.
Most of Renee's (resident potter) inspiration comes from the beauty that sits just outside her window. The wildflowers in the untouched fields, the dragonflies and hummingbirds buzzing around in the gardens, the trees and old stone fence pile that sit along the old farmers field. The galleries are housed in the old timber framed barn and granary. The studio is in a newer building nestled next to the granary. This is where resident potter, Renee Schwaller makes all of her work. The gallery shows her work along with over twenty regional and national artists. All of the work shown at Off the Wheel is original and made by hand.
